Dr. Norman C Estes M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Norman C. Estes received his medical degree from the University of Kansas. He received his residency training in general surgery at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Estes is certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is certified by the American College of Surgeons as both an ATLS and an Ultrasound Instructor. He has attended the Program for Chiefs of Clinical Services and the Advanced Program for Chiefs of Clinical Services at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts. He served as Chief of Staff at the University of Kansas Medical Center for six years. Dr. Estes has published over 80 articles on surgical oncology and related topics. His research interests are focused on tumor proliferation and nutrition as well as clinical studies in breast and gastrointestinal malignancies. Dr. Estes is currently Professor and Chair of the Department of Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria. He is also the Director of the Surgery Residency Program. He is on the active staff of three Peoria Hospitals and holds memberships in numerous oncology and surgical societies. Dr. Estes and his wife Jan reside in Peoria and are the parents of one daughter and two sons. He joined the staff at PMH in December of 2006 as a member of Princeton Surgical Services.
