THE MEDICAL STAFF
Your physician directs the medical aspects of your care while you are in the hospital. You should consult your physician if you have any questions about your medical care.
THE NURSING STAFF
Nursing care is provided 24 hours a day by a team of professional Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Nursing Assistants. A department director is responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care to each unit. Please contact your nurse or the department director if you have any questions or concerns.
While you are a patient, a dietary host or hostess will visit you to take your menu order. Patients with special dietary needs may be visited by the Registered Dietitian.
A licensed social worker will help you and your family members deal with financial, social and emotional problems related to your illness and hospitalization. They may assist you with discharge planning.
Trained respiratory care personnel offer management, control, diagnostic evaluation and care of your cardiopulmonary problem when ordered by your physician.
Your physician may order Physical, Occupational, Speech or Massage Therapy according to your diagnosis. Your therapists will help with increasing range of motion and strengthening extremities (Physical Therapy), hand/wrist injuries and improving activities of daily living (Occupational Therapy), speech/language deficiencies (Speech Therapy) and soft tissue injury (Massage Therapy). All treatments are designed to speed recovery and to return you to as independent a lifestyle as possible.
Realizing that your spiritual health is an important factor in your overall health, the Hospital Chaplaincy Committee, in cooperation with the volunteer clergy, provide chaplaincy program for your benefit. Local clergy serve as Volunteer Chaplains throughout the year and can be reached as needed by the hospital staff.
The x-rays, nuclear medicine, MRI, ultrasound, CT scan and mammography studies ordered by your physician are completed under the direction of a Board Certified Radiologist. These tests are used to determine the extent of your illness/injury or for diagnostic information.
The Laboratory is responsible for conducting the tests your physician may order. The information obtained from these tests is used by your physician in diagnosing and treating your illness. The Laboratory is staffed by registered medical technologists under the direction of a Pathologist.
